About Me

From a young age, my curiosity about how things work set me apart. While friends were immersed in computer games, I was captivated by the design and creation process, eager to forge my own digital creations. This passion naturally propelled me into the world of coding at the age of 11. Starting with Python, my desire to learn led me to explore Java, Web Development, and C.

Now, as a Software Engineer with a background as a Graduate Java Developer, I’m part of a highly skilled Scrum team at Equiniti. Committed to creating high-quality software solutions for complex problems, my expertise lies in Java development. Specialised skills under my belt include designing RESTful APIs, Spring, Git, Docker, and extensive experience in automated testing with Cucumber, ensuring the software I deliver meets the highest quality standards. A small selection of projects I have been involved in include the implementation of the OAuth2 security protocol, the introduction of two-factor authentication for our member self-service website, Single Sign-On, and the analysis of data mining techniques to identify performance degradation in our Cucumber tests.

With a high First-Class degree and prestigious Deans Commendation from The University of Exeter, I have a strong academic background in Computer Science. My research focused on the emerging field of lightweight cryptography, particularly lightweight encryption primitives for resource-constrained devices. I have successfully designed, implemented, and tested a command line tool that implements a selection of such primitives.

My yearn for learning and developing grows. I enjoy engaging in individual projects outside of work, including developing a web-based Spotify stats dashboard and a group planner application for friends. I am highly motivated, determined, and driven to continuously enhance my skills and knowledge in software development.
